: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan's (DRAP) e-governance system has entered its final phase as the agency has taken steps to change the paperless working environment

In a revolutionary step towards facilitating the pharmaceutical industry as well as ensuring transparency, quality and paperless working environment, DRAP has started digitization of all its departments through its e-governance system.


Sources close to the Ministry of Health said that Dr Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, would formally inaugurate the DRAP e-Governance system.


In addition to accepting online applications for drug licenses, the authority has digitized import and export records, adding that NOCs are also being issued to citizens for importing drugs.


It is learned that DRAP has digitized its 15-year record in addition to storing 4.5 million documents in its new e-governance system.


In December last year, DRAP launched an online application management system called Pakistan Integrated Regulatory Information Management System (PIRIMS) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to connect with pharmaceutical companies and applicants. Was started.


The online application management system combined the tasks of licensing, registration, inspection, post-market surveillance and pharmaco vigilance on a single platform.


This software was developed according to international data standards and supports Common Technical Document (CTD) submission, online inspection reporting of pharmaceutical firms, quality assurance and drug market monitoring and reporting of adverse drug reactions. does.
