At the reception, a hotel conducted an extraordinary investigation after hearing footsteps, hair pulling and phone calls from unfamiliar rooms.

Somerset Paranormal Investigators UK (SPI UK) conducted an investigation on the evening of November 14 at the Sherbury Hotel in Elminster, Somerset.

The hotel manager described a history of unusual activities at the hotel, including several views of the rider in the dining room, disconnected sounds and a sense of touch in the kitchen and basement, said SPI UK's leading investigator.

There were also reports of phone calls at the reception from unoccupied rooms and seeing the former hotel owner. SPI UK teams explored different areas of the hotel.

"We use scientific instruments for research, and some old methods," said the lead investigator. He said the group encountered interference with their walkie-talkies, which "mimicked the voices of the team".

He added: "Everyone in the group heard our own voices when we asked the other members of the team. We were clearly standing on camera, not touching the walkie-talkies."

The team also heard "bodyless male voices" calling out the name "Elizabeth", allegedly the name of the first owner's wife.

Investigators also said his hair was pulled up and he felt the touch and whistles were heard in the building.
